One home, on everyone's phone.
HomeRunner is a shared home-management app for iPhone and Android. The people who live in a house join the same home, each with their own account. Everyone sees the same items, manuals, tasks, and history. Finish a job on one phone and it is finished on the other. The people who service the house are kept too, with what each of them did.
Coming soon to the App Store.
The problem it solves
In most homes one person knows where the manuals are, which plumber to call, and when the filter was last changed, and the other person knows none of it. When that person is away, or sick, or gone, the knowledge goes with them. HomeRunner puts it on every phone in the house, so the home runs the same no matter who is holding the phone.
How sharing works
- One person creates the home. They add what they have and invite the others with a short code that lasts a day.
- Everyone joins with their own account. Sign in with Apple on iPhone, with Google, or with an emailed code. No shared passwords.
- Everything syncs. Items, photos, manuals, tasks, and history are the same on every phone, and they work with no signal; changes catch up when it returns.
- Reminders come the way each person wants. One phone can be quiet while another is reminded of everything.
- Owners stay in charge. The person who made the home can promote a co-owner or remove a member. Removing someone cancels the invite code, and a co-owner cannot be removed on a whim.
The contacts who keep the house running
Every person and company that has worked on the home, with phone and email and what each did on which item: the HVAC company that installed the furnace, the plumber who replaced the water heater, the pool service, the electrician. Name who did the work once, in the history entry, and they are kept. The next time the furnace needs a service, the number and the last visit are on the furnace's page.
When you are not the one at home
The emergency page shows where the water, gas, and breakers shut off, with photos and the steps for each, and it works with no signal. Print a QR label for the water heater and anyone in the home who scans it gets the manual and the last service; anyone else sees only that it is a HomeRunner label. The binder puts the whole home in one PDF to leave on the counter.
Private by design
Only the members of a home can see what is in it. Photos and documents are stored privately. A Face ID or fingerprint lock keeps the app closed on a shared phone. Leave the home from the app at any time; delete the account from inside the app at any time.
